Job Summary:

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The social organizer is a key member of the community development team at the district or area level, and he or she is in charge of efficiently coordinating and liaising with community-based institutions (CBIs), involving communities in all pertinent interventions, maintaining effective communication with CBIs and other relevant parties, and taking the initiative to spearhead community development’s indicatives at the village, community, sub-district, and district levels.

Duties & Responsibilities:

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To pro-actively lead social mobilization at the community, cluster, and district level. The SO is responsible for leading the social mobilization at all levels in the district, and he or she should ensure the meaningful participation of all community members.

• To maintain a good relationship with community-based institutions, stakeholders, and beneficiaries. The SO should maintain a good relationship with CBI and all other relevant stakeholders, as well as benefit from and make them understand the programs.

• To effectively engage community-based institutions and other stakeholders in all CD-related interventions. The SO is responsible for ensuring effective engagement of community-based institutions and all other relevant stakeholders at the community, sub-district, and district levels. And we should make sure that all relevant stakeholders are consulted.

• To pro-actively lead on the implementation of the CD-related interventions. The SO is responsible for ensuring smooth and on-time implementation of planned activities according to the yearly plan of operation (YPO) within his or her jurisdiction.

• To ensure transparency and accountability. The SO is responsible to ensure all the intervention/activities are implemented transparently, and the targeted groups are accountable to community members. And he/she is responsible to facilitate organizing accountability events any time required.

• Ensure effective coordination with CD team, AKF other sectors and provide on time support. The SO is responsible to effectively coordinate with CD team at the district/area offices and provincial office and he/she is responsible to provide utmost support to AKF’s another sector and when assigned.

• To carry out the activities in a way that all AKF’s and donor standards are meet and implementation aligned with the SOPs, standards and ensure there is no effect on environmental.

OCCASIONAL SIGNIFICANT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To ensure on-time and accurate reporting, support other trainers in organizing trainings/workshops when required.

• Perform any other job-related duty assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

• University degree in social science, rural development, law, and Business administration from a well-reputed institution.

• Very Good computer Knowledge of MS Office Packages.

• At least 3–5 years’ work experience as a Social Mobilizer, and social worker, and familiarity with community driven-development programs.

• Good Communication, Problem Solving, Community mobilization skills.

• Good Communication and Report Writing Skills in Local Languages (Dari or Pashto) and English

• Ability to perform well in stressful situations.
