Association for Aid and Relief, Japan (AAR JAPAN)

Association for Aid and Relief, Japan(AAR Japan) is a Non-Governmental Organization ( NGO ) aiming to provide emergency assistance, assistance to people with disabilities, and mine action, among other operations. It was established in 1979 as an organization with no political, ideological, or religious affiliation. AAR currently has offices in 10 countries.

Association for Aid and Relief, Japan mainly focus on the following activities: emergency assistance, assistance to persons with disabilities, and mine action.

Emergency Assistance – AAR JAPAN provides emergency assistance to refugees and victims when a disaster or a dispute takes place. AAR JAPAN has been conducting emergency assistance activities in many countries and territories. They have also been continuing our assistance in reconstructing infrastructure and restoring the daily lives of the local people after the emergency assistance.

Assistance to Persons with Disabilities – AAR Japan works to enhance self-reliance of persons with disabilities, including mine victims, through vocational trainings of motorcycle repairs, hairdressing and other skills and wheelchair manufacture,

Mine –  AAR Japan focuses on mine risk education, mine clearance and victim assistance. Mine clearance activities are operated in cooperation with partner organizations like HALO trust.

Action against infectious Diseases – AAR Japan has been supporting people who have contracted HIV/AIDs, Malaria, and other infectious diseases.

Public awareness – AAR Japan actively carries out the public awareness programs through events and lectures to promote the understanding on “emergency assistance,” “mine action,” “assistance to persons with disabilities” and action against infectious diseases” we are providing in Asia and Africa.
